The Ripple Project
Social Change Through Service
The Ripple Project promotes effective activism through service learning initiatives.
We encourage partnerships between campuses and communities and assist faculty who seek to integrate public and community engagement into their teaching and research.
Our aim is to help students enrich their academic experience and the greater community by becoming an active member of that community.
Service learning is a successful method of teaching, learning and reflecting that combines academic curriculum with meaningful service throughout the community. As a teaching methodology, it falls under the category of experiential education. It integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, encourage life long civic engagement and strengthen communities.
